TOP Rated Vacuum Cleaner List Buyers Guide

The list of Best Buys seems to change every few months based on list produced by various consumer guide publications. Funny thing however that in my experience of owning and managing multiple Vacuum repair and retail locations for over thirty years the basic designs of all the products have changed very little other than the model numbers , colors and price from one year to the next year.

It is my opinion that there isn’t any one best buy vacuum cleaner . It has been my experience that different vacuums are in fact better for different people depending on the job the person has in mind. The vacuum I may recommend for cleaning the air port lobby vs a single story home with both carpet and tile flooring and pets will not be the same product.

Any time your going to clean carpet inside a house a key component to making the best purchase for your use will come from the answer of a couple of basic questions. How fast does the brush roll spin? Vacuum cleaners get embedded dirt out of carpet using a combination of air flow and agitation with the single most important feature being brush speed. How often should I change the belt ? Most consumers never change the belt on their vacuum cleaner while most vacuums need the belt changed about every six months for best results. Some cleaners never have to have the belt changed and for family’s on the go these days that maybe a major feature.

A key issue in making a wise purchase should also involve the products life expectancy and the cost to run the product. Different carpet types along with non carpeted flooring also will be a factor in choosing the best machine.

Often customers purchase a vacuum that was recently rated a best buy in a consumers guide magazine and end up being unhappy with the products short shelve life and costly bags and filters which must be replaced often and are frequently hard to find. Often the comment is made “they don’t make them like they use to“ , I always get a chuckle on that comment because they do make them as good as they use to the key is that for a lot of folks they tend to forget that the old Eureka or Hoover they had that lasted them twenty years cost them one hundred and fifty dollars back twenty years ago and taking into account inflation over the twenty years you would need to spend over four hundred dollars or more today to purchase that type of quality with today’s dollars. Take a moment and reflect on housing and gasoline and the difference in price over the same period.

Vacuums today can do a much better job of not only cleaning the carpet and tile flooring but they work much better cleaning the air that we breath. Most folks don’t think to much about their vacuum cleaner and it sure lacks the pizazz that a big screen TV has or a new couch but from a health stand point it is much more important.

Vacuum cleaners are as much about a healthy home and clean air as they are about making the carpet look nice. Home owners with small children and or pets should especially be knowledgeable concerning different vacuum cleaner models. Allergy issues along with other respiratory concerns will make a huge difference in the selection of the best vacuum cleaner for you. Be sure and talk with a expert who has a wide selection of products to guarantee the best choice for your needs.

Which brings us back to what is the best buy for you?

I don’t have any new issues of any magazine to sale so frankly my answer would be that’s is really up to you. If you find out about the maintenance cost , the warranty as well as actually plugging it in and trying a couple of models that have the features that mean the most to you then you should make a excellent decision for your personal use.

My best advice is go to a store that has a large selection of product and ask some questions. I will make you a list of questions that most profesional buyers ask me.

1) What is the warranty?

It seems that these days you can multiply the manufactures warranty by three and that will give you the life expectancy of the product and as a result your purchase cost over the products life for example if the vacuum has a one year warranty on the motor you can expect about three years of life for the product. If it cost you 149.95 to purchase the vacuum cleaner then in three years time if we don’t have any inflation you will have spent 299.90 when we add the replacement cost of the machine plus bags , belts and filters .In the long run the short life of the product becomes very expensive.

1 B) If I have a problem who fixes it and where is the warranty service center?

We are constantly directed to shop with companies who don’t offer any service in fact they don’t even assemble the product nor allow you to try the product yet we are lead to believe that we are saving money by sacrificing all service we use to expect when purchasing a appliance from them because we are supposedly saving money. Let me ask you if smaller specialty stores offer low price guarantees on the product they sale along with knowledgeable sales help and product service( warranty) after the sale where is the best place to buy?

Of course if you like calling 800 phone numbers and staying on hold while your very important call continues to be ignored you may prefer shopping at a big box store.

2) What is the cost of operation bags , filters , belts where are they sold and can I do it myself?

Some vacuums particularly the more inexpensive models leak raw dirt into the HEPA filters and cause them to clog. HEPA filters range in price from 14.99 -39.99 on these inexpensive vacuums and as a result we see a lot of unhappy customers particularly those with the bag-less models who thought they were purchasing a vacuum with no up keep and no bags. Most dirt cup vacuums are also gross polluters that sprew out dust and bacteria if you have Asama or allergies these may be very unpleasant features for you.

One major manufacture has a limited number of warranty centers and you can find yourself having to ship your vacuum for repair and even if it is under warranty how will you get by for the six weeks it will take to get it back. Some products are designed to deny you the ability to replace HEPA filter or claim life time HEPA filter , folks ask your self how can a filter that is designed to trap microscopic particles of dust and bacteria not get clogged at some point in a vacuum cleaner if the vacuum cleaner works?

I also have a lot of customers who tell me the advertising on TV that lead them to purchase their vacuum was misleading. Wow imagine that advertising slanted in the products favor. I have a lot of vacuum cleaners for sale in fact in both Myrtle Beach and in San Diego we have the areas largest selection of Vacuum cleaners and supplies and we service the product we sale.

One other key factor beside your convenience to consider is should you need service or warranty work we can give you the skinny on repair and maintenance issues before you buy. You will be back and we want you to know before you make the purchase.

Most companies in today’s world push the service problem to another location away from the sales floor that way they don’t have unhappy customers slowing down any new customers who maybe thinking about making a purchase. Most of those companies sales are derived from the heavy advertising that several major manufacturers provide on selected models. Oh by the way the cost of that advertising is passed on in the price of the product.

Bottom line cheaper vacuums are cheap for a reason moderately priced are priced for a reason and expensive vacuums are priced for a reason. Last I looked all of the companies stock holders were expecting a profit and most have done pretty well based on what reports I have read.

But is that any different than cloths , shoes , furniture or most products we purchase in life? To a certain extent we get what we pay for. The key in my opinion is making a informed decision it has been my experience that those most often are the best decisions and I hope that you will come visit us or another specialty store so that your purchase will be a happy and informed one.

When you make a purchase that effects the very air that you and your family breath you should make the best informed purchase that will fit your family’s needs now and hopefully in the future. All of our economic situations as well as where we are on our walk in life should factor in your decision along with some facts that are relevant to you and your needs not someone Else’s life or their needs. One size doesn’t fit all.

We specialize in hospital quality Asama ,allergy relief vacuums and high quality vacuum cleaners for home and or profesional use we will be happy to help you find what is the best purchase for your dollars.
